Per K. Heiselberg

Professor Per Heiselberg has experience in research and development on energy efficient building design (Design of low energy buildings, integration of architectural and technical issues) as well as in building energy modeling (modelling of double skin facades, night cooling of buildings, multifunctional facades, daylight in buildings, passive energy technologies for buildings, building integrated renewable energy). He has participated in international research projects since 1988 (IEA-ECB&CS, EU). He has published more than 325 publications and given more than 20 invited lectures in the last five years in different countries (Europe, USA, China and Japan).

Olena K. Larsen

Olena K. Larsen is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University in Denmark. She has paticipated in many international research projects since 2004 (COST Action – Adaptive Façade Network, PROFessional multi-disciplinary TRAining and Continuing development in skills for NZEB principles, Modelling and simulation of intelligent facades, CLIMAWIN, EU Building AdVent etc.). She received professor P. Ole Fanger’s price for young researches in 2007.

Peter Op´t Veld

Peter Op ‘t Veld (MSc) is senior consultant at Huygen Engineers & Consultants Engineers in Maastricht, the Netherlands. His key qualifications are consulting and applied scientific research on (renewable) energy, sustainability, indoor air quality,  ventilation and building physics. For SenterNovem (now RVO) he was leading the program for the implementation of low temperature systems and the program for the implementation of innovative ventilation concepts in the Netherlands. In international projects he participated in IEA ECBCS Annex 27, 37, 40, 49, 50, 51 and 56.

Currently he is participating in IEA EBC Annex 64 and 66. He was coordinator of the European projects FP5 RESHYVENT: Demand controlled hybrid ventilation systems (2002-2004), IEE ECOLISH: Energy exploitation and performance contracting for low income and social housing (2007-2009), IEE IDES-EDU: Master and Post Graduate education and training in multi-disciplinary teams implementing EPBD and beyond (2010-2013) and EC FP6 REMINING-Lowex: Redevelopment of European mining areas into sustainable communities (2007-2012). Together with IRI University of Ljubljana and CVUT Prague he initiated a new and successful concept for Real Life Learning Labs in the EC DG EAC project EURL3A: European Real Life Learning Lab Alliance.  Currently he is the coordinator of two H2020 projects: MORE-CONNECT (EE1-2014) - Development and advanced prefabrication of innovative, multifunctional building envelope elements for MOdular REtrofitting and smart CONNECTions and PROF-TRAC (EE4-2014) - PROFessional multi-disciplinary TRAining and Continuing development in skills for NZEB principles.

Since September 2014 he combines his job at Huygen with a part time position as visiting professor at Hasselt University, teaching building physics and building services.

Karel Kabele

Karel Kabele is full-time professor and head of the Department of Building Services Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague (CVUT). He has extensive experience in many areas associated with the methodology of efficient building design, including energy conservation, computer modelling and simulation of energy and environmental performance, energy auditing, indoor environment prediction tools, heating and sanitary systems design. During his academic career of 25 years he has played a central role in the preparation of educational and professional materials and has developed excellent training skills through many years of delivering a wide variety of educational courses and seminars. He is guarantee of CVUT master study programs “Buildings and Environment” and interdisciplinary program “Intelligent Buildings”. Since 2013he is head of Indoor environmental quality research group at University Centre of Energy Efficient Buildings at CVUT. He was invited as visiting professor at National University of Singapore in 2007, 2011 and 2013, as external examiner at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Technical University of Vienna, Austria.

Cristina Jareño Escudero

Cristina Jareño is project manager for EU projects and researcher at International Department at IVE (Valencia Institute of Building). She is an architect from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain). She has extensive experience in the drafting of technical documents to support the pre-normative research of building process (Quality control plan, etc.). She has collaborated in regional and national research projects from competitive calls in the field of training, low carbon urban development, renewal strategies and the built environment. She has collaborated in several EU projects from different programs (ENPI CBC MED, H2020, MED and Climate KIC) like PROF-TRAC: PROFessional multi-disciplinary TRAining and Continuing development in skills for NZEB principles; GREEN SKILLS: Connecting people for Green Skills; REPUBLIC-MED: REtrofitting PUBLic spaces in Intelligent MEDiterranean Cities; OBBeC: Office Building Behaviour Change and Gouv’airnance: Governance of air quality in the Mediterranean cities.

Dr Leticia Ortega Madrigal

Dr Leticia Ortega is architect from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She is Training Manager at Valencia Institute of Buillding (IVE). She has had extensive training and extensive experience in the fields of civil society development and institutional strengthening, environmental research and policy. As a project manager has designed monitoring pilot actions and coordinated building data collections campaigns in the energy efficiency field. Her research are focused in Sustainability planning, energy conservation, changing user behaviour to conserve resources, community based research, environmental education and community based social marketing, environmental assessment.

She has led and collaborated in several EU projects (Med Programme, Intelligent Energy , H2020 and Climate KIC).

She is assessor of Certified Professional in Accelerating Transition - Climate-KIC initiative.

Lecturer at Polytechnic University of Valencia in several courses and masters . She has national technical publications in the field of the built environment. She has authored peer-reviewed articles in sutainibility building field.

Laura Soto Francés

Dr Laura Soto is architect from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She is project manager for EU projects and researcher at International R&D&i Department at Valencia Institute of Building (IVE). Expert on environmental management, sustainable product management, environmental innovation, environment-related competitiveness, impacts of environmental policies and voluntary certification schemes on companies and industrial sectors. She has more than 10 years research experience in the energy efficiency buildings &cities . Before working at IVE, Dr. Soto has worked as consultant in the field of energy.

She is Board Member of Sustainable Building Alliance (SBA), that is the world’s premier organisation for the sustainable building certification industry.

Her international experience is combined with a solid knowledge of the EU energy efficiency policies, participating in several EU projects (Med Programme, Intelligent Energy , H2020 and Climate KIC).

She provides expertise in technical committees on a regional level.

Lecturer at Polytechnic University of Valencia in several courses and masters . She has national technical publications in the field of energy transition processes, including technical, economic, environmental, and social aspects..She has authored peer-reviewed articles in in various aspects of energy efficiency in buildings, including both nZEB and deep renovation.

Sébastien Delpont

Sébastien is director at GreenFlex, leading the circular economy, smart city & energy consulting practice of the company. He notably supports its clients to integrate sustainability in their business models and to deploy their ecological transition schemes. He works mostly for real estate players, retailer, urban services providers & authorities. Before joining GreenFlex, he worked for the SNCF, Veolia Water Denmark and ADEME. He holds a degree in General Engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Lille and a MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He is leading the EnergieSprong France Market Development team.
