Second Train-the-Trainers Course in Zagreb, Croatia - the Housing Europe point of view
In the third week of September, Housing Europe participated in the project meeting of PROF-TRAC hosted by the Croatian Chamber of Mechanical Engineers HKIS in Zagreb. PROF-TRAC is an EU funded project developing training courses and an open qualification platform for all stakeholders dealing with nearly zero energy buildings (nZEB).
This interdisciplinary project targets technical experts, architects and managers involved in the construction and refurbishment of nZEB. The project develops a training and qualification scheme and organises train the trainer courses that will lead to national training courses. Together the scheme and the courses create a life-long learning process to continuously up-skill professionals.
The meeting combined the second session of the so called 'train the trainers' course together with a project coordination meeting. In the 'train the trainers' course held first, trainers developed national courses to take place over the course of next year. After that, the project consortium met to discuss the steps ahead.
One of the main points on the agenda was a final discussion of the skills map that depicts current skills and the future skills needed in different professions. As a next step, an app will be developed to display the skills, professions and training courses. Furthermore, a brainstorming session was held on a further exploitation of the outcomes after the project has finished.
For Housing Europe, it was particularly important to present the training needs of housing managers and to see how to involve better them in the courses, as they are crucial actors when it comes to nearly zero energy buildings. The next 'train the trainers' course will take place in January 2017 in Valencia, for which Housing Europe will reach out to members to get involved.
