Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia | ZAPS | Slovenia

ZAPS – Chamber of Architecture and Spatial planning of Slovenia is Professional Organization of chartered Architects, Landscape Architects and Planners of Slovenia. It has approx. 1500 members, mainly architects (1200). ZAPS has its headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

ZAPS is responsible to maintain the register of qualified persons, to execute Professional examination and to oversee conduct of registrants (code, discipline, sanctions), ZAPS`s activities include provision of professional support to members, organisation of Architectural competitions and Continuing professional development learning program.

In the Prof / Trac project ZAPS has task of Organisation of pilot in Slovenia.

Suzana Domjan, Mechanical Engineer Researcher at University of Ljubljana

Biography

Suzana Domjan is a researcher at the Laboratory for sustainable technologies in buildings (University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). She is involved in education of students of architecture and health science.

Her area of expertise is heat transfer in buildings, building energy survey, and project management. She is an expert in the field of sustainability assessment and energy labelling of buildings. She participated in 12, and as the national coordinator led 4 European projects in the areas of energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources in buildings. She also participated in the research and development project of the Competence Centre "Sustainable and Innovative Construction".

Helena Kovač, architect at architectural office Geoplan D.O.O.

Biography

Helena Kovač studied and graduated at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. She has her own architectural bureau in Kamnik, where she has been working since 1993. Throughout her entire career she has been working on diverse projects, including family house projects, kindergartens, schools, public and office buildings. She has been part of Chamber`s legislation activities since 2008 as leader of legislation commission.

The importance of natural lighting and shading, energy issues and natural materials quickly gained her attention. In most of her projects she endeavours to include these issues and as well to acquire additional knowledge. She is DGNB registered professional and officially certified by Slovenian Government. All her projects are made to achieve the high nZEB standards.

Vladimir Krajcar, Architect and Chamber Officer

Biography

Vladimir Krajcar studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. He spent almost all working career as practicing architect on different size projects, including schools, start up buildings and hotels. Occasionally was involved in Chamber`s activities and cooperation with ACE, recently acting as professional staff in ZAPS dealing with education, architectural competitions, legislative etc. Very soon he became aware of importance of natural lighting and shading, energy issues and natural materials, which he strived to include in all projects and parallelly to acquire knowledge (courses for PHPP certificate, DGNB registered professional.) He had designed and built buildings meeting NzEB standards.
